|A soul-shattering late-season collapse Authentic Robert Bortuzzo Jersey has likely doomed the Carolina Hurricanes. Is there anything we can take from this season?
A few weeks ago, I made a careless mistake. I left my computer in my unzipped bag. When I proceeded to carry the bag to its http://www.officialvikingshop.com/shop-by-player-captain-munnerlyn-c-2_46.html next destination, the computer, enslaved by the laws of gravity, obediently hopped out and smashed on the floor.
I feel this is a decent analogy for the Hurricanes’ season- well mostly the smashing part. For most of the year, the Canes have looked like a borderline playoff team. They failed to win consistently, but they were keeping their heads above water. Until recently, it looked like they were in a tight playoff race that they could very well win.
So, barring really, really, really insane circumstances, the Canes are not making the playoffs this year. With only 10 games left, we have a 0.3% chance of qualifying.
I even argued, that at one point, the Hurricanes weren’t really the masters of their own destiny. They just had to continue playing decent hockey, and http://www.armacan.com/mike-adams-jersey-c-1_26.html hope that no other team would decide to go on a tear. Now, when I wrote this, I assumed that the Canes would stay at a .500-ish pace. They hadn’t collapsed all season, and I thought this would continue. Well, I’ll just admit it, I was wrong.
The Hurricanes have lost 11 out of their last 15 games. The talent we thought we had, on either side of the ice, has melted into a disappointing display of inconsistency. Our shooting percentage has remained abysmal http://www.authenticbruinssale.com/david-pastrnak-jersey-c-1_18.html at 7.7%. (2nd last in the NHL) Regardless of your talent, it is quite unlikely that any team with that low a shooting percentage can qualify for the playoffs.
Despite being third in the league in shots on goal per game, and the best team in the league in shots against per game, Lawrence Taylor Youth Jersey our actual goals for and against are quite disappointing. We are currently 26th in the league in goals per game and 21st in goal allowed. How can this be? I really have no idea.
Also Antonio Gates Jersey a reminder, we are still the best team in the league according to a few advanced Grant Long Womens Jersey statistics. We have the highest corsi and fenwick percentages in the NHL. The point is, a lot of factors suggest that the Hurricanes should be a lot better than we are. Wait a second… here it is!
